Many complex analytical challenges are presented during the development of vaccines. The range of different vaccine formats available (DNA, protein, bacterial, viral) and their applications (therapeutic, preventative) can add to this complexity. In all cases the immunogenicity of the vaccine in samples must be assessed together with the potency to determine lot to lot variation between batches.

We have experience developing and validating a wide range of ligand binding and cell based assays for measuring sericonversion or immunogenicity including ELISA/EIA/RIA, surface plasmon resonance (BIAcore), electrochemiluminescence (ECL) and flow cytometry where appropriate. In addition, our scientists are experienced in measuring T cell responses using techniques such as MHC multimer analysis and ELISPOT (both ex vivo and cultured in vitro).
